Why does Logging Analytics return zero results from Cloud Shell?

I was building a Function in Cloud Shell and found my Logging Analytics calls via the Python SDK return zero results. Looking further I see also the OCI CLI in Cloud Shell returns zero results. Using my credentials normally I have no trouble (i.e. running via CLI or Python outside Cloud Shell). This is very puzzling so wondering if anyone has an explanation. Note that I uploaded an API key to Cloud Shell and tested using that for authentication and found it works! Seems the issue is with Cloud Shell using token authentication (the default for Cloud Shell). Again, still very puzzling as I'd expect even delegated authentication to work just find for all services (seems only Logging Analytics has this issue in my testing).
