Before an UI operational change is made to a custom (or OOTB) artifact ensure an activity (warning/notice) that would list all workbooks affected by the change.

For instance: When a key Metrics is changed, customer receive a dialog :

Also customer may see the following when there are missing artifacts:

The following items could not be found. These will be removed from any visualizations, filters and parameters that use them.

An enhancement to the OAC DV would be a dialog that also state what workbooks, visualizations, filters and parameters will be affected.

This would allow the customer to consider a backup or snapshot strategy before making the change.
