I would like to be able to create a timeline/gant view of when the overall pipeline starts and when each job completes. This would help us understand which jobs are running long and which ones are quick.

We're using the cloud version. Is there a way to change the status back?
-
Noted. Thank you.

That's a helpful workaround. I can do that in the meantime; however, if there's going to be an option to directly extend a dimension using the wizard, I need more control than I'm currently given.

If you're on the January release, it should already be there.

This is an example of the gap between FDI and OAC. In OAC, you can control this with the Permissions section in the Roles and Permissions in the console. You can remove the ability to create and edit datasets for the Author Role or even create your own custom role. I tried to find the equivalent to this in FDI and I don't…

Are you referring to something like this?

Related idea on the OAC side. https://community.oracle.com/products/oracleanalytics/discussion/23822/data-flow-caching-for-enhanced-performance?utm_source=community-search&utm_medium=organic-search&utm_term=data+flow

I agree with this. Even if we can get a tooltip in FDI on each column that explains the lineage by saying what the OTBI column name is.

I was running into the same problem. The way we are solving for this is to stop using excel spreadsheets for data storage. We configured our APEX and moved all the data to interactive tables. Then, as soon as the data is updated, it's stored in the database. Then all you need to do is refresh your report page and your data…

Here is an example of OAC DV on top and APEX on the bottom. The OAC graph takes about 10 seconds to load versus the APEX graph takes less than 1 second. I should get the option to "load quickly" or something like that on the OAC side so it can load approximately as fast as APEX.

Can't we just add another option in the Relative To field that includes "End of Current Period"? With that being said, you could add others such as: Today End of Last Period End of Current Period End of Next Period
-
In case you haven't seen it yet, there are more options now, but there is only one other option. I will be submitting another idea to expand it.
-
This would look sharp. I like this idea.

@Bret Grinslade - Oracle Analytics-Oracle Yes, a save temporary dataset at this point would be good. Sample data would NOT be enough for me. I would be ok with being able to insert a save step and then being able to continue on beyond that step. Right now, as soon as you put a save step in, you can't do anything past that.…

In addition to being able to cache the entire data flow, we should be able to be in the middle of a data flow and have the option to run it to a certain step in the flow. If you have 10 steps in the flow and I worked on step 5, I want to run it to step 5, be able to check the data, then proceed with step 6. Then as I'm…

Related Idea. https://community.oracle.com/products/oracleanalytics/discussion/20757/ability-to-add-an-apex-form-page-to-an-analytics-workbook#latest

Agreed. I'll be entering a separate idea.

I came on here to put in this idea. I also would like to look at this the other direction. I would like to more easily add OAC catalog objects into APEX. That would allow me to create my dashboards using APEX and then I could embed the OAC workbooks into the application. That would allow me the option to combine multiple…

Thanks Bret. I have several examples. I started a conversation with Gabrielle. Let me know how I can best help out.
